Released back in September, the 7-inch version of Toshiba’s Thrive Android tablet is now available at retailers in 16GB and 32GB editions.
The 7-inch version of the Thrive is equipped with a 1,200 by 800-pixel LED-backlit touchscreen display, a high-definition, runs Android 3.2 Honeycomb, and is powered by a 1GHz Nvidia Tegra dual-core processor. It means that it can manage all Tegra-based entertainment apps and games for Android. In additions, the handset also has a 5-megapixel autofocus camera on the back, along with a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for video chat. MicroSD slots for expanding storage, a micro HDMI port for pushing video or images to an HDTV, and a mini-USB port for sideloading are also specs of Thrive. Naturally, the 7-inch Thrive is equipped with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, along with built-in GPS.

In terms of price, Toshiba’s 16GB version is sold with the suggested price of $379, 32GB version for $429.
Toshiba has also been loaded with software from Toshiba; packed its own media player onto the tablet, along with file management applications, Quickoffice, a bundle of games, and Kaspersky Tablet Security.
In terms of price, Toshiba’s 16GB version is sold with the suggested price of $379, 32GB version for $429. It makes it difficult to compete with HP blowing out $99 TouchPads and Amazon pushing the Kindle Fire for $199.
The 7-inch version of Toshiba’s Thrive Android tablet has a slimmer build than the chunky original, but whether with $379 starting price, will it be able to rival with the Kindle Fire this holiday season or not, all will be answered soon in the coming time.
