imagesHave you ever played games and dreamed your mouse to have more buttons instead of three??? You do not have to dream any more as OpenOffice.org will soon introduce an office application mouse with multi-button.

The new multi-button mouse of OpenOffice is codenamed as OOMouse which is the collaboration product with Warmouse. The device features a shedload of inputs and 18 programmable buttons which could be double-clicked. Besides that, OOMouse also goes with an obligatory scroll-wheel, 512k of flash memory and support for over 60 separate configs.

It is understandable that OOMouse incorporates default profiles for the five core OpenOffice.org apps based on 662 million data points hovered up from the so-called “usage tracking facility” loaded into OpenOffice.org 3.1, which is free desktop software that competes with Microsoft’s Office suite.

According to OpenOffice, users can also use OOMouse setup software to customize the profiles as they want.

It is excellent of the mouse to be able to support up to 63 profiles which could be stored simultaneously in the device’s memory. OpenOffice is proud of that its OOMouse is now the first computer mice to incorporate an analog joystick and first to permit the use of the joystick as a keyboard.

OpenOffice.org also claims to enclose the most efficient finger-to-button map with the mouse to server those who are confused about how they might go about using the mouse.

OOMouse is said to become the main rival with the new mouse of Apple named Magic Mouse which has multi-touch surface.

The mouse cost initially at $74.99 and can work compatibly with Windows, Linux and Mac.
