Intel has unveiled its latest plan to update its P55 Express chipset with B3 stepping.
According to this giant chip maker, its newly updated platform can support fully for the new Core i7 and i5 processors based on the 45nm Lynnfield core.
The P-55 B3 stepping is planned to be available early in December and, the grouping of the B2 and B3 will be presented later in 2010.
Furthermore, the Clarkdale processor based on 32nm technology; besides the Core i7 and i5 CPUs will also be supported by the P55s platform.
Not many distinctions could be found between the two platform B2 and B3 but Intel claims that its latest version will be able to support more processors in the future.

Once new B3 stepping is available, it will support for eight PCI Express 2.0 x1 ports (2.5GT/s), one PCI Express 2.0×16, six Serial ATA-300 ports, up to 14 USB 2.0 ports, Intel HD audio and Ethernet.
