Released back in September, the 7-inch version of Toshiba’s Thrive Android tablet is now available at retailers in 16GB and 32GB editions.

The 7-inch version of the Thrive is equipped with a 1,200 by 800-pixel LED-backlit touchscreen display, a high-definition, runs Android 3.2 Honeycomb, and is powered by a 1GHz Nvidia Tegra dual-core processor. It means that it can manage all Tegra-based entertainment apps and games for Android. In additions, the handset also has a 5-megapixel autofocus camera on the back, along with a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for video chat. MicroSD slots for expanding storage, a micro HDMI port for pushing video or images to an HDTV, and a mini-USB port for sideloading are also specs of Thrive. Naturally, the 7-inch Thrive is equipped with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, along with built-in GPS.

In terms of price, Toshiba’s 16GB version is sold with the suggested price of $379, 32GB version for $429.

Toshiba has also been loaded with software from Toshiba; packed its own media player onto the tablet, along with file management applications, Quickoffice, a bundle of games, and Kaspersky Tablet Security.
In terms of price, Toshiba’s 16GB version is sold with the suggested price of $379, 32GB version for $429. It makes it difficult to compete with HP blowing out $99 TouchPads and Amazon pushing the Kindle Fire for $199.

The 7-inch version of Toshiba’s Thrive Android tablet has a slimmer build than the chunky original, but whether with $379 starting price, will it be able to rival with the Kindle Fire this holiday season or not, all will be answered soon in the coming time.

Among them, Walter Isaacson’s biography of Apple founder and former CEO Steve Jobs was the bestselling title on Amazon this year. The biography has gained the outstanding success to surpass other books despite the fact that it was just introduced in late October. Its publication date was a month ago after news of Jobs’s death broke on Oct. 5. The success of the book proved the important role of CEO Steve Jobs in the technology field and he had a strong impact on the technology world.

The rumor “the iPad 3 coming in February” may come true. Before the strong competition from other handsets, Apple is going to launch an iPad 3 soon in February. It is likely that the iPad 3 will largely bring a much higher resolution, making it difficult for other manufacturers to get a similar screen in volume.

The iPad 3 may be visual tablets which allow the iPad to look better than the low-cost alternative handsets. The new (presumably Retina) display apparently requires more resources, so rather than getting slimmer, this new iPad may actually chub out a bit, consistent with the newest reveal on the new iPad case. However, fast product refreshes don’t bring a lot of changes because there isn’t the time to work them through, which may make the iPad 3 an in-line update.

There is also a strong belief that Apple’s refreshed product will be equipped with the Samsung A6 quad-core processor

There is also a strong belief that Apple’s refreshed product will be equipped with the Samsung A6 quad-core processor, the Tegra 3 five-core chip and a new Retina display to make photos quickly.

Apple is facing a number of threats in the coming year; particularly from better competitive products to broadened lines from Amazon Kindle Fire that could more aggressively attack the iPad’s dominance. So whether the launch of the iPad 3 will bring Apple such a success as Apple 2, all will be clear in the coming time.

On Thursday, Android fans in Canada had the opportunity to purchase Samsung’s new Galaxy Nexus smartphone as it released on Canadian carriers Bell for $159.95 and Virgin Mobile for $159.99. However, the Galaxy Nexus, the initial handset to work on the highly anticipated Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, still has no U.S. release date or price. It seems to be a big regret for the US. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Nexus has been available in Britain for weeks and is releasing across Europe over the coming few days.

The Galaxy Nexus will work on Verizon’s 4G LTE network, featuring a 1.2-gigahertz dual-core processor, a massive 4.65-inch touch screen with a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution, and 1 gigabyte of RAM. In addition, the tablet will be equipped with 5-megapixel rear camera capable of shooting 1080p video and a 1.3-megapixel camera on the front for video chatting, no physical buttons on the curved face of the device. Among specs, the back of the Galaxy Nexus looks similar to the Galaxy S II and the LG Nitro HD.

Ice Cream Sandwich is the version of Android that Google expect to get hardware makers on the same page. In the past, many tablet makers got failure to issue software updates for older phones when newer versions of Android are introduced.
Whether Galaxy Nexus and Ice Cream Sandwich will make its milestone in the future, it will be answered soon in the coming time?

Have you ever wondered about the revenue each Apple staff makes for the company? Horace Dediu, a member of Now Asymco had conducted a detailed survey about Apple’s revenue via average revenue each Apple employee earned for the company. In 2010, it was reported that each employee would make $481,000 for the company. That is a great number, isn’t it? Through three quarter of 2011, that number is $320,000 per employee. Although the sale number can increase much at fourth quarter of the shopping season, it is difficult to achieve the revenue as in 2010. It is expected per Apple staff will bring $427,000 in revenue for this year.

By comparison, JC Penney pulls in about $124,000 in revenue each year per employee.
It means Apple has done something very well, very right. In terms of company area, Apple got $1.8 million per employee and profits of nearly $430,000 per employee for its fiscal 2011.

At the current time, Apple owns its 300-plus retail outlets which are the envy of the industry.

But what about compensation for said employees? Apple is not generous much with its employee for such big revenue they brought for the company. Although the average Apple store employee creates sales at the rate of about $278 per hour, they only got wages from $9 to $15 per hour for salespeople and can reach $30 per hour for Genius Bar staff.

At the current time, Apple owns its 300-plus retail outlets which are the envy of the industry. It is reported the company will generate nearly $4,500 in annual retail sales each square foot of retail space where its products are sold, consisting of online sales. That’s in contrast to the annual sales per square foot plus online sales of companies such as Tiffany ($3,070), Coach ($1,776), and Best Buy ($880).

Twitter has just introduced its new look – a major design so as to simplify the interface and attract new users to this popular social network.

The changes consist of a top-top-bottom change, revamping the website, mobile apps, and even TweetDeck, the company’s social-network integrator software. Despite the fact that the new look for the site is releasing slowly, consumers with an iPhone or Android device can check out the new Twitter design right now.

Particularly, the user interface has been given a makeover, with the pen in new Tweet button taking the form of a quill

With the purpose of supplying consumers a familiar experience no matter what device they’re on, the new Twitter has four universal buttons: Home, with your familiar feed; Connect, where you can see all your @replies and mentions; Discover, the place to check out trending topics and search hashtags; and Me, where you can dive deeper into your profile.
Particularly, the user interface has been given a makeover, with the pen in new Tweet button taking the form of a quill — a clever nod to Larry, the bird in Twitter’s logo. In case customers don’t have the new look yet, they can browse the redesigned iPhone app in the gallery of Twitter. Many users suppose that this change make Twitter look more beautiful and easy to use. This is a good signal for Twitter in getting consumers’ attention.

Nowadays, more and more people are turning to use Google to help them make their minds to name their children. They are prone to look for some names which are in the top search results of Google, making attempts to avoid names which bring up an undesirable search result. This growing trend for Googling a baby’s potential name is happening around the world.

Particularly, many mothers and fathers are based on the uniqueness criteria to decide what baby name will be. Those names have to be unique enough to rise to the top of search results, much different from other general names.

Many mothers and fathers are based on the uniqueness criteria to decide what baby name will be

Laura Wattenberg, the author of ‘The Baby Name Wizard’ stated The New York Times, that a desire for uniqueness in the digital world has created ‘unspoken competition’ between parents to find the most original name. In fact, parents will type their thinking of a baby name on Google, after being shown the results, they may change their mind immediately if it has been taken “Oh, no, it’s taken. There are already three others with that name”

Another way to make the name different with others is changing the spelling because choosing an original name today seems to be very difficult. For examples, an American couple, Lecia and Thor Kaslofsky, changed the spelling of the name they wished to give their baby daughter from ‘Kalia’ to ‘Kaleya’, as the first version pulled up pictures and search results of strippers, after they Googled it.

A small study on LilSugar, a US site for parents, has revealed that 64 per cent of respondents had Googled their baby’s potential name before making the final decision.

Google has made its announcement that since the release of Android Market in 2008, 10 billion apps have now been downloaded to mobile gadgets running the operating system. So as to celebrate its milestone, some Android developers are going to supply a selection of apps at the dirt cheap price of 10 cents during the coming 10 days.
According to Eric Chu, director of the Android Developer Ecosystem, claimed in a post on the Android Developers blog, ten billion was a great achievement, it was simply amazing.

In the previous week, thanks to Android users around the world, Android Market had surpassed 10 billion app downloads with a growth rate of one billion app downloads each month. Ten billion is pretty good going seeing that the platform was only launched in 2008. It means it only takes 21 months to gain a billion downloads.
By July this year, Android Market hit the six billion mark. In the last four months alone, four billion apps have been downloaded to mobile tablets utilizing Google’s operating system.
While it’s taken Android Market over three years to achieve 10 billion downloads, it took Apple’s App Store, which released in July 2008, two-and-a-half years to gain the similar figure.

Android Market was investigated in May this year, making it easier for users to find and discover new apps.
As for the special celebration sale, apps being offered in Android Market on Tuesday consist of Asphalt 6 HD, Color & Draw for Kids, , Endomondo Sports Tracker Pro, Fieldrunners HD, Great Little War Game, Minecraft, Paper Camera, Sketchbook Mobile, Soundhound Infinity and Swiftkey X.

Facebook has released the official launch of Timeline this evening. At the current time, New Zealand is the only country to get Timeline while other regions will apply it in the “near future.”

In fact, Facebook initially launched Timeline in at the beginning of September, and quickly provided the means for developers and curious users to enable this spec. A more general launch was scheduled for coming month, but it had not come due to some address technical problems and privacy concerns having to do with the software.
As you know, Timeline is a way to illustrate your entire life, not just the part you’ve been living on Facebook since you took part in a graphical way.

One of the common issues of Facebook is that it’s almost entirely concerned with the here and now. Major life events, though chronicled, are quickly pushed to the bottom of an individual’s feed and forgotten.

Therefore, Facebook Timeline rolled out to bring those events back, mapping them on a graphic that tells the story of a user’s life, from birth to present day. Although theidea was highly appreciated widely, new privacy concerns were raised with the feature, one of them being that it was visiblefrom the Timeline when you “unfriended” certain people. Timeline is one of Facebook’s most exciting new specs so many consumers will apply it immediately when it is launched officially. There are a lot of amazing Timeline designs for you to apply for your own Facebook and share them with your friends.
