After five months of beta testing, Bitdefender’s Mobile Security app for Android handsets is officially available for download now. It is suggested that this is the appropriate time these apps launches due to dangerous malware makers.
Originally released in June, Mobile Security has been getting upgrades, offering both a free version and a paid version, which costs $9.95. At this time, it is also equipped with a number of additional protections for Android users.
With the free version, consumers can get: handsets in the following lists:
Malware scanner: automatically scan any new app you download; initiate an on-demand scan anytime you like.
Application audit: allows consumers to see what kinds of permissions the apps on tablet, check whether apps require access to the Internet; whether they require access to personal information such as contacts, messages or photo gallery; and whether any apps will cost you money by automatically sending out messages
Remote geolocation: track the location of their handset on Google Maps, in real-time.
Web security: Scans any website requested by the default browser on the tablet to see if it points to fraudulent URLs, or if the site contains malware or other types of viruses.
Remote lock: Lock consumers’ device through online Bitdefender account.
Remote wipe: Delete all the data from your tablet from your Bitdefender account
Message/sound alert: Display a message or play a sound on your tablet through Bitdefender account.
Bitdefender’s Mobile Security app is available from the Android Market here. Customers who have already installed Mobile Security can simply upgrade their app to get the final version.
